The students that made up the committee are from schools across Howard County. The committee meets every couple of weeks to discuss our current affairs and make decisions. We always encourage new members to join the committee, and the only requirement is that you are a high school student living in Howard County. Please see the Schedule for a list of our meeting dates.
On the day of the festival, volunteers from all over the community help to ensure that the event runs smoothly. Whether they’re ushering, selling t-shirts, or even operating AV equipment, each volunteer is a vital part of the festival. In addition, volunteer hours can be given to students that participate.
Every video entry for the Film Festival is carefully examined and judged by respected members of the community. Teachers and staff members from the various high schools in Howard County conduct the preliminary round of judging. The final round of judging is conducted mostly by professionals from various fields, including writers, producers, and actors.
